Success!
After getting my bike chain fixed ($18), and waiting for my leg to feel better, I got on my bike again.
I had some DVDs that were due at the nearby public library. At least I thought that the library was nearby. It took me about 30 minutes to get there and I did not crash. There were no close calls with cars, pedestrians, guard rails or anything else.
There was even a bike rack for me to lock up my bike.
I returned my movies, got some water, looked around for something to check out and got back on my bike.
It took a half hour to get home. I checked it on Google maps and it was a little more than a 4 mile bike ride.
I think that is a good start. How long should it take me?
Nice blog, with some very well written and thought out articles.
I used to love cycling as a child but these days I use the car most of the time. We live in a village where the roads are narrow and the cars drive evry fast so it makes cycling quite dangerous. I would love to take it up again and was hoping to do so this summer – unfortunately it rained nearly every day!
