Between 11 and 13 May the big brains of the wind energy industry will be meeting in the iconic German city to discuss challenges faced by the sector at E/E Systems for Wind Turbines conference
And there are quite a few of them such as reducing constructional and operational costs, meeting the international technical requirements for grid codes and grid integration and increasing efficiency, availability and serviceability.
Speakers from research and industry will include Siemens Wind Power GmbH, PowerWind GmbH, Suzlon Energy GmbH, among others. Amongst the topics that will be addressed are:
• Grid codes – Understanding area specific requirements to ensure compliance to the power generation system
• Wind generators – Finding the ideal system for your application by hearing about the advantages and disadvantages of different generator topologies
• Pitch systems – Assessing the latest developments to reduce loads and enhance turbine safety
• Converters – The future of low-voltage versus medium-voltage converter technology for application in next -generation wind turbines
The event will also include a visit to Lloyd Dynamowerke GmbH & Co. KG where delegates will be able to experience generator production live during a site visit, or take part in workshops on current and future generator-converter systems and how to ensure grid code compliant wind parks.
Further companies participating in the event include: DeWind Engineering GmbH, Germanischer Lloyd, Winergy AG, ABB, Switzerland Ltd., Converteam UK Ltd., Bosch Rexroth AG, Fraunhofer IWES, Orbital2 Ltd., Siemens – Loher, European Network of Transmission System (ENTSO-E), Robert Bosch GmbH, Siemens AG, AMSC Windtec GmbH and The Switch Engineering Oy.
