SunRun, a home solar financing company, earlier this week announced that founders Edward Fenster and Lynn Jurich received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2010 Award in the Cleantech category in Northern California.
According to Ernst & Young LLP, the award recognizes “outstanding entrepreneurs who are building and leading dynamic, growing businessesâ€. Edward Fenster, CEO, and Lynn Jurich, President, were jointly selected by an independent panel of judges, and the award was presented at a gala event at the San Jose Fairmont Hotel on June 12, 2010.
SunRun pioneered the power purchase agreement for home solar, allowing homeowners to go solar for as low as $0 upfront and pay monthly for their solar electricity. More than 4,000 homeowners have gone solar with SunRun, and the company grew 500% year-over-year in 2009 versus 2008.
