Independence Day

First of all, Happy Independence Day.

Here at Energy Refuge we believe one of the most significant ways to celebrate Independence Day is to promote a switch to renewable energy and a green lifestyle. We should be looking for ways to declare independence from fossil fuel and greenhouse houses that are choking the planet and to tread more lightly on this planet.

It’s not going to happen overnight but it can happen. What we can do right now, besides adopting renewable energy whenever possible, is to reduce energy consumption and increase energy efficiency.

A McKinsey & Company report found that if the United States aggressively adopted more efficient cars, factories, homes, and other infrastructure, CO2 emissions could be reduced by 28 percent below 2005 levels by 2030.

It’s important to remember on a date like today that apathy is not an option and that we can all contribute towards building a sustainable future. As Mahatma Gandhi once said: “You must be the change you want to see in the world”.

Independence Day is a great day to start taking action in that direction. Be independent. Go green. Adopt renewable energy. Save energy.

Have a great day.
