Martin Luther King Day at work

I am currently consulting at a large corporation. Lots of consultants like me were at work today, even though the company had it as a holiday.

Of course , there are monitors left on. There are meeting rooms with lights on.

But during the weekend and holidays many of the hallway and galley lights are only half on.

I liked it. I think it could always be that way. It was peaceful being out of the fluorescent lighting while walking to the printer or to a meeting. It wasn’t inside the closet dark or anything. It was just like dusk is all. It was a nice break.

And it saved energy.

Why couldn’t be like that all the time?

It couldn’t just be that people are afraid of the dark, could it?
