I have just been laid off of my consulting job. I figure something else will come up and I have my resume everywhere. But if you know of something let me know….
So my new plan is to see how long I can go without my car. I have a bike and a lock for it. And yes I have a few pounds to lose. I figure the few dollars I keep out of ExxonMobil’s hands the better for me.
Will it be too hard to just ride a bike in the far western suburbs where I live? There are no bike lanes. The main road is 6 lanes with no crosswalks. At times it is stop and go with people doing u-turns, right turns on red, and left turns. Other times everyone is going 50 mph.
Will I survive? Will there be places to lock up my bike? How much weight will I lose? And how much money will I save on gas? I will be letting you know.
