Pierce Brosnan Speaks Up for Beluga Whales Under Attack by Big Oil

Actor Pierce Brosnan, famous starring in several instalments of the James Bond franchise, has lent his support to a campaign to save beluga whales in Alaska.

There are only 284 beluga whales in Cook Inlet, Alaska but that hasn’t stopped the Apache Alaska Corporation from preparing to launch a deadly assault on the whales in their own homes. Apache Alaska plans to use deafening airgun explosions which can cause injury, hearing loss and death, as the video below shows.

Please visit the National Resources Defense Council and sign a petition asking the Obama administration to withdraw its approval for this violent method that could spell the end of this endangered species.

This is another reason to support alternative energy. Besides emissions, fossil fuel exploration is often harmful to animals, directly, as in this case, or indirectly.
