I received an email from Friends of the Earth, a UK environmental organization, that I’d like to share with readers here as it is about something very important. The UK will soon have its climate change law, which is great news. However, there’s something stinky in the air. The Government are ignoring the country’s share of international aviation and shipping emissions, whose CO2 emissions are twice as high as airlines’. Friends of the Earth says it’s “ludicrous” and there’s only a few weeks to put it right.
The Big Ask is the website dedicated to get aviation and shipping’s emissions taken into account by the new law. Have a look and add your voice to it. It looks great and it’s quite witty. And in order to keep up the campaign pressure, Friends of the Earth is putting on an exclusive aviation-themed gig on Tuesday 3 June with Razorlight frontman, Johnny Borrell. There are 25 pairs of tickets to be won. All you need to do is to take part in an easy aviation quiz. Have fun.
